STUDY ON THE NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FLOW FIELD IN TUBE SIDE OF TWISTED TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER WITH DIFFERENT TORQUES

Abstract: This paper compares and studies the flow characteristics of the standard elliptic section on the twisted tube heat exchanger with different torques by using three-dimensional numerical simulation method of Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD).It analyzes the effects oftwisted tube with different torques on the performance of heat exchanger with the same design parameters.The results show that the optimal performance of heat exchange tube with 9times the equivalent(long axis)diameter of torque can be achieved if the heat transfer coefficient(α=K/(ΔP/L))of pressure loss per unit is taken as the criterion under the condition of the same inlet velocity and outlet pressure.This provides some reference for the optimization design and scientific research of heat exchanger with twisted tubes in engineering application.
