17-4PH泵轴弯曲失效原因分析

Cause Analysis on the Bending Failure of 17-4PH Steel Pump Shaft

摘要: 材质为17-4PH的泵轴存放一段时间后发生弯曲。从轴上切取3块样品,对其进行1 020~1 060 ℃固溶处理和540~560 ℃时效处理后空冷。然后,对热处理后的样品分别进行金相观察和洛氏硬度检测。17-4PH沉淀硬化不锈钢材质的微观组织应以板条状马氏体结构为主,但是通过金相观察发现,该泵轴材质的马氏体组织中出现了大量残余奥氏体,同时,在其轴向截面上还观察到了许多条带状δ铁素体。残余奥氏体在常温下具有向马氏体转变的趋势。泵轴放置不当易造成局部产生较大拉应力,进而诱发相变导致泵轴弯曲。

Abstract: The pump shaft made of 17-4PH steel bent after having been placed for a period of time. Three samples were cut from the shaft for experiment testing. These samples were given solution treating at 1 020~1 060 ℃ and then aged at 540~560 ℃ with following air cooling respectively. After heat treatment, metallographic observation and Rockwell hardness test were carried out. For the pump shaft of 17-4PH precipitation hardening stainless steel, the dominant microstructure should be composed of lath martensite. However, through metallographic observation, it was found that there was a large number of retained austenite among the lath martensite, and lots of banded ferrite was observed in the axial section. The retained austenite has a tendency to transform into martensite at room temperature. When the pump shaft is placed improperly, the highly localized tensile stress would induce phase transformation which leads to shaft bending.
