Comparison of Two Types of Furnace in Xylene Column Reboiler

Abstract: The large-scale devices require large-scale heating furnaces accordingly. Under such circumstances, the selection of furnace types is particularly important in saving occupation of land, reducing engineering investment, improving furnace thermal efficiency and facilitating construction, inspection and maintenance and operation. This paper takes the xylene column reboilers in PX units with different heat loads in two projects as example. It introduces two typical heating furnace structures. The paper also compares these two furnace structures from such aspects as technical characteristics of different types of furnace, pipe system layout, steel structure design, burner setting, soot blower setting and lining structure. This provides reference for the selection of furnace types.
