Abstract: Being a kind of clean energy, liquefied natural gas (LNG) has been widely used. As important storage equipment, LNG storage tanks are becoming large in size, which is the development trend of the LNG industry. The insulation structure of LNG storage tanks is complicated, and the insulation characteristics of tank top, tank wall and tank bottom are different. Temperature field calculation is an important part of tank design. The parameterized modeling of large LNG storage tank was performed to achieve parameterized load condition input, which can improve the design efficiency greatly. This paper introduced the method for parameterized modeling. By adopting this method, it researched the temperature field and the effect of cold insulation under abnormal operation conditions of LNG storage tanks. Parameterized design can not only help engineers improve the cold insulation structure, but also improve the efficiency of analysis and calculation. It is the trend of tank design in the future.
