Research on Banded Structure in Base Metal of Liquid Ammonia Tank Using TFM and EMAT Technique

摘要: 综合利用全聚焦相控阵和电磁超声2种技术对1台液氨储罐定期检验中发现的壁厚异常部位进行精确检测与分析的过程。首先,介绍了这2种检测技术的特点以及液氨储罐的检验检测情况;接着,阐述了采用电磁超声进行测厚异常区域快速确定的方法,初步确定壁厚异常原因;最后介绍了采用全聚焦相控阵精确检测缺陷的具体分布、回波大小和形貌特点等的方法及过程。根据检验检测结果,判定该缺陷为钢板内的非金属夹渣物在轧制过程中形成了断续带状组织。该母材带状组织的检测与分析方法,可为工程技术人员在实际检验中诊断疑难缺陷提供参考与借鉴。

Abstract: The abnormal wall thickness of a liquid ammonia tank was detected and analyzed by means of TFM and EMAT in this paper during the periodic inspection. At first, the characteristics of the two detection techniques, the status of inspection and detection are introduced. Then, EMAT is used to quickly identify the abnormal thickness area, and the cause of abnormal wall thickness is preliminarily determined. Furthermore, TFM is used to accurately detect the specific distribution, echo size and morphology of defects. Finally, according to the detection results, the author determines that the defect is a non-metallic inclusion in the steel plate forming intermittent band structure during rolling. Through the detection and analysis of the banded structure of the base metal described in this paper, it is helpful for the engineers to diagnose the difficult defects in the actual inspection.
